Baloch Salvation Front Condemns Alleged Pakistani Aggression and Attacks on Afghan Civilians

The central spokesperson of the Baloch Salvation Front, in a policy statement issued by them, strongly condemned in the harshest terms the alleged continuous incursions, aggression, and aerial bombardment by the colonial state of Pakistan against Afghanistan. These actions were described not only as a blatant violation of international laws but also as a direct attack on Afghanistan’s independence, sovereignty, and regional as well as internal peace.

The spokesperson stated that such criminal attacks are tantamount to fueling instability in the region. These measures are not only an attempt to push a sovereign country toward war but also a malicious conspiracy to disrupt the peace of the entire region. They further said that Pakistan, which was formed under the British colonial arrangement, is in fact an extension of the global imperial system, whereas Afghanistan has historically been a free, sovereign, and resistant nation whose people have always demonstrated steadfastness against external domination.

Highlighting Afghanistan’s strategic and geopolitical importance, the spokesperson said that Afghanistan serves as a key geographical bridge between Central Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East. This region has historically been a center of trade routes and civilizational corridors, and even today remains a محور of competition among global powers. In this context, any form of aggression against Afghanistan poses a serious threat to the peace and stability of the entire region.

Referring to the historical, cultural, and social ties between the Baloch and Pashtun nations, the spokesperson stated that this relationship is not limited to geographical proximity but is based on centuries of shared history, traditions, and struggles. Both nations have always understood each other’s pain and have maintained a tradition of joint resistance against external interference. The historical relationship between the Baloch and Afghan peoples is founded on mutual respect, sovereignty, and the principles of freedom, which cannot be weakened by any unnatural state pressure, coercion, or aggression.

The spokesperson called upon the international community, human rights organizations, and the United Nations to take immediate notice of the situation and to take practical steps to protect Afghanistan’s sovereignty so that the region can be safeguarded from further tensions and potential humanitarian disasters. They added that Afghanistan has historically defeated every external and internal pressure aimed at undermining its sovereignty and national dignity. According to them, Pakistan’s strategic ambitions, which were previously nurtured under the doctrine of “strategic depth,” have completely failed in today’s Afghanistan.

The spokesperson stated that present-day Afghanistan is neither subordinate to any external state strategy nor does it accept the Durand Line as a recognized international border. In this context, Pakistan’s policies are being viewed as promoting tensions in the region and serving as a tool of global powers, where it seeks to increase pressure on Afghanistan by exploiting geopolitical opportunities. The spokesperson said that history bears witness that Afghanistan is a land where external powers have repeatedly faced resistance and ultimately been forced to retreat. The Afghan nation’s tradition of resistance, commitment to sovereignty, and determination to protect national dignity are fundamental components of its political identity.

The spokesperson strongly condemned the alleged aerial attack on a rehabilitation center for drug addicts in Kabul, describing it as a grave humanitarian tragedy and a blatant violation of international principles. They stated that reports of more than four hundred innocent civilians being killed in this attack are extremely alarming and a severe test for the global conscience. The spokesperson added that earlier, civilian populations in Nangarhar and Paktika were also targeted, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of Afghan civilians. Attacks of this nature on unarmed civilians are clear violations of international humanitarian law and moral principles.

The statement noted that the location targeted in the recent attack was previously an American military training center known as “Camp Phoenix,” which was converted into a rehabilitation center for drug addicts in 2017. After 2021, the center remained operational, providing treatment facilities to drug addicts from Kabul and its surrounding areas. This fact makes it clear that the site was a non-military, humanitarian institution, and targeting it constitutes a serious violation of international law.

The spokesperson stated that such actions not only violate human rights but also promote instability, tension, and mistrust in the region, which could prove dangerous for broader regional peace. They warned that the silence of the international community would be equivalent to encouraging such incidents. The spokesperson called on the United Nations, the international community, and international human rights organizations to take immediate notice of these events, ensure transparent and impartial investigations, and hold the responsible parties accountable.
